When I started my agency, nearly 10 years ago, I discovered how valuable building a reputation in the WordPress community was for growing a business. Colleagues that started their agencies, were growing by leaps and bounds due to their presence in the WordPress space. I wasn’t a developer or designer, but I knew I could mingle with some of the best-of-the-best, and that’s how The Matt Report was born.
I wanted to uncover stories from business owners in our field, enticing them to share their greatest lessons for making it in the digital business age. With more than 200 published audio episodes, The Matt Report has been downloaded over 400,000 times, and continues to grow as the premiere podcast for WordPress entrepreneurs.
I started podcasting a few years ago when a few friends and I decided to start one called TIL Podcast, where we would record conversations about some topic we were interested. It was short-lived and not crazy popular, and I knew I had a lot to learn.
When I started How I Built It, I wanted to do it differently. I started asking myself questions about quality, recording, and stats. I had to talk to a lot of people in the space because a resource like this didn’t exist. I’m hoping that this book will save you some time so you can get up and running with your show faster.
